Airous laughed. "Your brother sounds a lot like my bro. He learned how to fight when..." he paused for a second choosing his words carefully, "someone pulled a gun at me. I was really little and had gotten into some trouble..." He smirked.
She started to play with his fingers, which always confused him when he saw a girl do this. Airous always saw his brothers girlfriends play with his hands before, but never held his hand. Is it girl code or something? He thought to himself.
Slowly he got up off the ground, quickly brushed himself off and then helped her up. "Where to?" he asked. "I'm not a picky eater so your choice of where we should eat, and I will pay for our meal." He teased smirking.

Jayla pursed her lips, and didn't speak of her own tale. She didn't like remembering the night, so she'd rather not speak of it right now. She then sighed, getting up with him him as she grabbed his arm and hoisted herself up. "Hm...I'm pretty sure we agreed that I would pay for it, didn't we?" She said, giving him a puppy dog look again.

He smirked "Well I think it should depend on the place missy. If we are going to a 5 star restaurant then I will have to help pay." He grimed even bigger. "But it's up to you. Where would you like to go?" He asked again as he slowly started to walk out of the alley, knowing she would follow.
He looked around the corner to make sure there wasn't anyone follwing them before he stepped out onto the sidewalk. The bars where light up now. The only people out where those who wanted to club and do other unpleasant things.

She raised an eyebrow, then reached in her pocket. Jayla pulled out a large stack of money, new bills, and they had a rubber band around them to keep them in good condition. "And I say that I pay for every cent because I have more than enough." She said, tucking the bills back into her pocket and pulling her shirt and coat down where it had raised slightly. Then she shrugged. "I honestly have no idea. There are tons of places around here." She said, keeping up as she walked next to him.
Her eyes surveyed the crowd, and then she looked back at him. "Do you have any ideas? Because I honestly-" She stopped speaking in midsentence, her eyes widening as she stared across the street. The guys that she had dealt with in the alley...and they looked...beyond furious. "Uh-oh." She muttered, and ducked behind Airous. "Hey, uh, can we kinda move along?" She said, grabbing his arm and started to tug him with her as she stayed hidden behind him,

He smiled. "We'll see about that." He chuckled. Airous honestly didn't want her to spend all her money on him. He felt bad but knew a few more things to pay for it all.
He blinked and watched her expression change. Airous followed her gaze to a group of men across the street. "Those are the guys who you encountered with?" He asked as he gently took her hand and pulled her to his side, wrapping a protective arm around her and walking quickly down the sidewalk. "They don't look so bad."

Jay huffed, and pouted a bit. "It's fine. I have enough money to pay for it...probably 5 times. So, now biggy." She said, still staying behind him as she watched the guys across the street closely. They seemed to be looking...for her, was her bet.
She'd rather avoid that...'pleasant' meeting; she didn't want to deal with them again.
A bit of surprise filled her for a short moment when he took her hand, wrapping his arm around her, and guiding her forward. But she didn't linger, and just nodded at his question and glowered at him on his comment about the guys. "They don't seem that bad, I know. That's what I thought when I first saw them. But they can hit hard, are pretty light on their feet, and definitely know how to fight. The only reason I was able to get away and knock them out is because they aren't...well, let's just say they're far from being the brightest crayons in the box. I'd rather avoid them, because I can't guarantee I'd be able to win a second round. Even with you nearby." She said quickly under her breath, her voice only loud enough for Airous to hear because he was right next to her.
The whole time she'd spoken, Jayla hadn't dared taken her eyes off of the angry group. And one looked over in her and Airous' direction, and she quickly looked away while hiding her face. "We need to get out of here." She muttered to Airous as she saw the guys speaking, looking over in their direction a lot during the conversation. A rise of panic came onto her when she saw them start to walk slowly, thankfully unsurely, in their general direction. "Now." She stressed, tightening her grip on Airous' hand.

Airous noticed how tense she had become and how she kept looking at the group. "Don't look at them. If they see you looking then they might notice you." He said. But it was too late they had already seen them and now was walking in their general direction.
Airous racked his brain to think up of something. He was sure if need be he could take on the group. Airous had lived on the streets a few times and knew how to control situations like these easily, but that was something he didn't want to have to do at that moment. He felt her hand tighten on his and he looked down at her. "Hey, don't worry." He smiled. "I can handle this."
There where three things they could do. One, jump into the nearest building which might not stop the goons from following them. Two, get on the bus or in the nearest Taxi. Or, Airous knew that one of his friends lived close.
"Ok, so decide fast, random building, taxi, or my friends place to escape from them." He smirked and added. "How fast can you run?"

Jayla cursed under her breath. "Too late." She said lowly, glancing over at the guys for a moment before looking at Airous. Then she groaned, and started walking faster. "I'm sorry, but I doubt it. A situation like this is difficult to handle." She muttered, sighing as she frowned up at him.
When he told her the options of what they could do, she bit her lip before glancing behind them to where the guys were. They were getting closer..."Random building. We can lose them if we take some confusing route. There may be more of them, but I'm sure we'll manage." She said quickly under her breath, and cleared her throat uncomfortably. A yawn came from her as she looked at Airous, and then she grinned, though it was uneasy. "Pretty fast." She said, her grin turning into a smirk.

Airous chuckled. "We could find out." he joked knowing she didn't want to hang around the group to see if he could handle it or not.
He looked back to see how close the goons where and then looked to the side to see what kind of buildings were close by. He decide that a woman's department store was a perfect place to hide out. "When I say three, we run to that store." He pointed to the building across the street. He looked back one more time to see the goons speed walking now.
"Ready?"he asked but didn't want to long for her reply. "One....two...," He made sure that there wasn't any on coming traffic before saying, "three!" and took off running, making sure she was close by.
Airous heard one of the men yell at them but didn't stop or look back to see who had done it. When they were across the street he quickly opened the door of the building for her and followed inside behind her.

Jayla sent Airous a death glare when he spoke about finding out. She'd rather not. "Don't even think about it." She said lowly, narrowing her eyes at him as she huffed. Staying around the idiots was the last thing she wanted to do right now.
When he told he what to do, and she looked to see where he was pointing, a frown came to her lips. "Ok..." She said unsurely, looking at the place. It seemed a bit...iffy. The guys could easily follow them in there. "But I don't think-" He cut her off by counting and she tried to start to tell him again. "Airous, I don't know if-" It was too late, he had already started running. "Damn it." She growled under her breath before taking off after him after hearing the quick, heavy footsteps coming up behind her.
Hearing the man yell, she increased her speed and almost ran into the door when Airous opened it. 'Smooth, almost run into a door when creepy guys are after you to get revenge. Real smart, Jayla.' She thought to herself, before shaking her head. Then she automatically turned and hit Airous' arm sharply. "They could easily follow us in here!" She hissed, before noticing a Muggle woman glaring at her. One behind the checkout counter, to be exact.
She knew why.
"It wasn't my fault!!! It was my brother's!" She said, insisting but the Muggle woman simply turned her head away from Jay coldly. "Gah...can't take an apology. She thinks is a bloody excuse." She muttered under her breath, huffing a sigh.

Airous heard her try to protest but he had already taken off. He knew he should have told her more about his plan but there wasn't any time.
When they reached the building Airous thought he was going to explode from laughter. He noticed the counter lady and shrugged, trying not to laugh. "Come on don't just stand here like an idiot. They are going to follow us." He grabbed her had a pulled her to the back of the building quickly.
"So now I'm your brother?" he asked as they rounded a coroner and came to an elevator. He pressed the up arrow and looked at her. "Am I always just going to be a brother to you?" he asked teasingly.
Airous looked around while they waited and saw the men had came into the building and where looking around for them. Soon the Bing sound came from the elevator and the doors open, "Come on." He said holding his hand up so she could enter the elevator without the doors closing on her. He hit the 7 bottom.

Jayla opened her mouth to say something to the Muggle once more but Airous had already whisked her away, him grasping her hand while she glared at the Muggle. "I wasn't standing there like an idiot!" She whined quietly, huffing as she followed after him while stumbling over her own feet.
When they finally stopped at an elevator, she sighed softly as she stopped and brushed her red hair out of her face gingerly. "Nope. I probably wouldn't be able to address you as just my 'brother'. Plus, it's not possible for anyone here in the Muggle world to believe it. They know my brothers, especially Danny. That's why the woman was glaring at me. Danny almost caused this place to burn down, and the woman thinks I was behind it. Mental, I tell you." She said, shaking her head as she tsked.
Following him into the elevator, her thoughts elsewhere, she watched him press the 7 button before shaking her head and sighing. "So, what do we do now? We have to stay away from those goons somehow..."

He laughed "Ooh...I thought you where trying to blame me for us barging in huffing and puffing." He grimed. "I wasn't standing like an idiot either. And you can call me whatever you'd like." He ended the retort with a wink and smiled.
"That's funny because my brother used this place as a hide out when he was being chased down by people...cops...gangsters." He shrugged smirking. "That's where we're headed now. To his hide out."
The elevators number flashed 2....3....4

A small laugh came from Jayla's lips as she raised an eyebrow skeptically at him. "Well...you're the one who suggested this place!" She said, huffing as she crossed her arms and pursed her lips. Then she laughed again. "You are so weird, Airous. But, who knows, I may have to think of your title relating to how we are." She said, grinning a bit before letting it fade as her eyes widened.
"Well-uh-thats...odd." She said, biting her lower lip as she thought over Airous' words about his brother. His brother used to hide out here...that's not weird at all. And she honestly meant that too. But she coughed, surprise filling her as she looked at him with confusion and disbelief. "We're what?!?" She said, her voice going up a few octaves. Looking quickly at the current elevator number, she bit her lip even harder to the point where it was almost painful.
She didn't have a good feeling about this.

Airous smirked at her. "I'd rather be weird than normal. Normal people are just so... boring." He chuckled and then looked down into her eyes. "What do you mean by that? What are we?" There was a small shimmer of hope that maybe he was more than just a weird kid to her.
The elevator broke his concentration as it binged to signal that they had made it to level seven. The doors opened and behind them was a small hallway. There was only on door that was at the end of the hallway. The hallways walls where white, and plain, and the carpet was a deep blue.
Airous gently took hold of her hand once more and lead her to the door. "Don’t be scared. When my bro pass, " Airous cringed for a small second, trying not to remember that horrid day. “ ...he left me the key. I'm the only one who knows about his hid out and I'm the only person who can get in."
He took a small card out of his pocket. It looked like a credit card. On the front, it had a photo I.D. of his brother, with his birthday, color of eyes, driver’s lioness number, and even how much he weighed. His brothers picture was faded out a little but it was clear that the boy in the picture had dark black hair in a emo cut, a small face that looked like he was about 18 years old, and the same bright green eyes Airous had. On the back was a black strip against white. He slide the care into the small card slot in the door. It beeped and unlocked.
Airous opened the door for her. What was behind the door was a lounge room. The main colors where red, green, and black. It was equipped with two full sized black coaches, a pool table, a red sound system, a flat screen TV, an Xbox 360 live, and a mini fridge filled with soda. He smiled. "Welcome to my brothers place."

"Exactly. I didn't mean it as a bad thing." She said, rolling her eyes as she laughed lightly. But, as her laughter faded, she looked in his eyes for a moment before she felt her cheeks heat up a bit at his question. That was something she didn't want to answer very much, so she ended up not being able to get out a real answer. "Well-uh-um...I-uh-" Thankfully, by then, the elevator had made it to the floor they had been aiming for and sounded with a bing! as it stopped. It saved her from more embarassment in front of him that was obviously soon to come along if he pursued her about his question on what they were.
It was something she really really didn't want to answer.
Jayla almost sighed in relief when the elevator doors slid open. But, when he took a hold of her hand, she immediately held the sigh back. But she frowned a bit when he mentioned his brother passing - it was tempting to hug him - and she bit her lip before letting a playful grin play on her lips. "You aren't the only one who knows about it; you told me, remember?" She teased lightly as she smiled at him. She was trying to lighten the mood a bit, to try to get off of the depressing topic.
She studied the small card that he took out of his pocket, but she couldn't really see much of it considering he slid it into a small slot by the door that she hadn't really noticed before. 'Probably doesn't matter much, I'll probably see it later or something,' Jay thought as she walked slowly ahead of Airous, who had opened the door.
She was taking in everything, which really surprised her. "He must've been planning to stay here for a long time if he had all of this ready and at hand whenever he needed or wanted it." Jayla said quietly, more so to herself than Airous. Then she turned to him and bit her lip. "How long do you think we'll have to wait it out here?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

Airous usually got distracted and forgot a lot of things he already said. It didn't happen that often but when it did he found it annoying. "Oh...sorry..." he felt his cheeks go red for a second from embarrassment.
He heard her mummer even thought he didn't think she wanted him to hear. "Well, he was usually in trouble so he needed a hide away." Airous moved swiftly to the mini fridge and pulled out two bottles of caffeinated soda. "I'm guessing 10 minutes at the most. By then the group should have searched this whole building but no one can get in this room." He smiled
"After their gone we can go get something to eat. Until then, what do you want to do?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

Jayla laughed lightly at seeing the color in his cheeks. "It's fine. You don't have to be embarassed about it." She said, assuming so from him blushing. Honestly, she thought that it was cute. But was she going to admit that willingly?
Probably not.
Her lips pursed and then she shook her head. But, she didn't comment when Airous spoke about his brother. His brother being in trouble all the time, having to have a hide away to keep safe, didn't give her a good idea of how he died, considering Airous had already mentioned that his brother wasn't alive. Not directly, of course, but as good as. Jay cleared her thoughts when she heard Airous' footsteps, and she looked over toward him to see him at the mini fridge.
She barely noticed that he pulled out two bottles of soda, but she bit her lip. "Probably. Unless they somehow are too stupid to realize to know that this place has a back door, and wait down there for us..." She said, trailing off as she felt a slight rise of panic in her. But, Jayla managed to distract herself from her dramatizations of going back down stairs when Airous spoke again.
What to do? What to do, what to do...
"I honestly have no idea what so ever. You have any ideas?" She asked, blowing a large sigh as she frowned a bit at her lack of thought. Her eyes looked at him, and seemed a bit distressed but otherwise calm. But most of all, curiosity was showing in her as she raised an eyebrow.

Airous handed her the soda and raised an eyebrow. "I don't think those guys even realized that there's an elevator. If they figure it out we'll here them on the way up." He smirked and leaned against the coach.
He watched her for a moment and then smiled. "Your very undecided."
"Ok you seem distracted...." He laughed "let's play a game. I'll give you a penny and you tell me what your thinking." He smiled hoping she'll play along. "And don't worry you won't hurt my feelings."

Jayla laughed, then muffled it with her hand as she reached out and took the soda from his outstretched hand. But then, something occured to her. "Still, what if they're waiting for us down there? Then what're we gonna do? Because sometimes when I'm running I trip, and I really hope you don't ever see that but still! The possibility of them waiting for us is out there." She said, stressing a bit as she bit her lower lip. Then, so she would shut up for a moment mostly, she opened up the bottle and took a swig from it before putting the cap back on loosely.
Her eyes looked at him, and then she pouted playfully, momentarily forgetting her distress. "I am no - wait." She said, about to argue before she actually considered what he said. Then she pouted, and gave a dramatic sniffle for effect. "Aww...I am indecisive! Darn it." She said, her lower lip sticking out like a pouting child.
But, regaining her composure, she looked at him and raised an eyebrow. Secretly, Jay had been hoping that he wouldn't notice that she had been somewhat distracted. Honestly, her dramatizations of if they went back downstairs were running through her head, and his question from when they were in the elevator was there too. And at that, she felt a light blush color her cheeks when she thought of her answer. Then, she gave a small laugh.
"The penny wouldn't be necessary, I'd take an exchange. If I tell you what's on my mind, it's vice versa; so you have to tell me whats on your mind." She said, giving a broad grin. Her grin softened as she thought for a moment. "But, the thing is, there are a lot of things I'm thinking right now. So, which one do you want to hear?" She said, raising an eyebrow once more.
Jayla was hoping he wouldn't say the main thing, because the main thing was now the question from when they were in the elevator.
