The door to the Three Broomsticks banged open. A tall figure entered the pub and threw back her hood before examining her surroundings. The pub was surprisingly empty. perhaps this was due to the current fear, or maybe it was just the weather. Whatever was causing this lack of population, it did not affect Evelyn. People or no people, this girl would be sitting alone, drinking her usual butterbeer with honey as she did ever Sunday afternoon.
Evelyn strode over to a table in a dark corner, away from curious eyes. Almost as soon as she had seated herself, a bar girl brought over her drink. Evelyn took it in surprise, payed her due and watched the girl return to the counter. Such quick service was not expected in such a popular place. This made Evelyn realize these days one should expect the unexpected.
The pub was warm, and stayed that way due to the door rarely opening. The only other occupants of the Three Broomsticks were a bunch of hags, a pair of goblins and several lone humans. Evelyn sipped slowly from her mug and gazed out the window. It wasn't much of a site due to the thick snow that coated the window, however she could make out a few indistinct shapes. One of which was closer to the building than the others. It slowly tromped through the snow, past the window and a few seconds later the door to the pub opened and a breeze blew in. Evelyn guessed this newcomer was the figure she'd spotted outside the window. Evelyn watched the figure walk in, order from the bar and glance around the room.
