Airous entered the room where usually class would be, but at this time at night everyone was asleep, curled into the beds dreaming of summer. He moved slowly to the largest, oldest looking window in the tower. It was big enough for you to see a lot of the schools grounds. He blooped his small body on the window seal and looked out at the night.
The sky was a deep dark blue, almost black color. You could see many small sparkles in the sky that where known as stars. Airous wondered what was going on at his hometown. He missed the muggles he hung out with back home. Sure, Hogwarts was mysterious but home was fun. He knew people there and they didn't care if he acted...odd. They all loved him, except his father.
Airous trembled at the thought of his father He knew that about now his father would be getting wasted at a near by bar. Drunk. Like always. That was the one thing Airous loved about Hogwarts. He didn't have to wake up and deal with his drunk, abusive father.
Airous let the thought go. This was no time to think about his father. No, he need to think about what else was bothering him. The fact that he didn't know anyone at the school. Other than that his grades were good, he stayed out of trouble and away from bullys. All he really wanted was a girlfriend or maybe just a friend at that.

Roxie stared at the ceiling in the Gryffindor Girls Dormitory. Everyone was unfortunately asleep and she was there bored. How wonderful would it be to just look at the stars she thought to herself and smiled. It would be a great view. Especially at the Astronomy Tower. Sure it would be risky but where's the fun in that?
She silently stood up and grabbed a light jacket from her trunk. She slipped on some flip flops and walked out. She was careful to be quiet in the hallways and walked all the way up to the Astronomy Tower. Roxie smiled. It was way to easy not to be caught by prefects. Maybe because she took it to herself to figure out their scheduales and know where not to be.
She walked and saw a hufflepuff boy. He was also a 4th year. She recognized him from her classes. His name began with an "A". That's all she knew. She didn't really expect anyone else here. But might as well talk while they were there.
Roxie walked silently not wanting to scare him. "Hello." she said standing beside him. "So what brings you out here?" she asked even though she could easily be asked the same question.

Airous could hear the sound of very soft footsteps. If he were a human he might not have heard them, but because he was an elf he did heard them. He chuckled softly to himself. Whoever was approaching was trying to be unnoticed. So it couldn't be a teacher or perfect.
He looked up at her with his green eyes that held something, dark and mysterious in them. He smiled. "I'm just getting away from the chaos of school. It's really nice up here." Airous moved to the side making room for her to sit if she wanted to.
Airous gazed up at the night sky once more for a brief moment before turning back to her. He really wasn't social with others and kept to himself most of the time. So he didn't know exactly how to start a conversation. "What brings you here?" he asked trying not to sound rude. "Not many students are up at this hour."

Jayla hurried quietly through the halls of Hogwarts, listening for the sounds of her mentally insane owl. "Xavier!" She hissed, looking around. She was generally cranky because she was tired, and wanted to sleep. Her owl wasn't helping her whatsoever.
Tonight, she had kept him in his cage in her room with her roommates. Somehow, he got the cage open and she got up and accidently opened the door, and he flew out. She got downstairs just in time to see him fly out of the commons. And now, following the sounds of her bird, she was creeping around Hogwarts at night. Ave was leading her near the Astronomy Tower...but it didn't surprise her. He could get out of the castle there, considering the windows and whatnot.
Right now, Jay hated the Astronomy Tower.
When she got near there, she swear she could hear voices. 'People who can hopefully help me,' She thought, and continued quietly toward the tower. When she heard the loud flap of wings, she froze and didn't breathe for a moment. She heard the familiar sound of her owl's 'coo'es, and she stayed still, until the sounds faded away and she couldn't hear him. "Stupid, bloody bird." She grumbled, and peeked into the main chamber of the Astronomy Tower. A guy...who was familiar. 'From where?' She asked herself, and shook her head as she recognized the other form. Roxie, that figures. But maybe they could help her...
"Hey, uh, sorry if I'm interrupting anything but have either of you seen or heard my owl? Or rather an owl?" She said, huffing as she pushed her messy, bedhead hair out of her face and looked at them with desperate, tired eyes.

Roxie smiled as he made room for her. "Thanks." she said as she stood next to him. He asked why she was there. "I am having one of those sleepless nights. Thought I should do something adventurous to relieve my boredom." she explained. Roxie hated them and considering she wasn't a morning person didn't help the lack of sleep she was getting. She could just imagine the horrible mood she would be in the next day.
"I am Roxanne Weasley. But everyone calls me Roxie." she introduced putting her hand out to shake his. "And you?" she asked back trying to remember the guy's name. It was reallly bugging her. Wow he has nice eyes she thought to herself looking at his green eyes.
Roxie turned around at a familiar voice and laughed slightly at her friend's bedhead. "Hey Jay. Did I wake you? I just snuck out of the girls dormitory a few minutes ago?" she asked. Roxie was positive she had been quite. But maybe not quite enough. or maybe Jay had also been having a sleepless night.
She asked about the owl. "Which one of your owls?" Roxie asked curiously. How did they get out? she thought to herself. She was sure the cage was closed when she was "asleep". She didn't reeally check when she left the dormitory. Did someone open it when she left. Did the owl open it by itself?

Airous smiled at Roxie and shock her hand. "I'm Airous Fai." He knew that she, like everyone else would probably have a problem with pronouncing his name. It was an old elvish name anyways. "Don't worry about mispronouncing it," he chuckled "it's a hard name to remember."
Airous looked up hearing another person enter the tower. She looked like she was a Fourth year like Roxie. He thought that he had seen her before but he wasn't sure were or even when he had seen her.
"An owl?"He blinked remembering that his choice of a pet was a cat who seemed to wonder off a lot as well. "I haven't seen our heard of one but maybe we can help you find it." He smiled up at her.

Jay grimaced and shook her head. "No, you didn't wake me Rox. Xavier did when he escaped his cage. That bird is bloody insane...I don't even know how but he opened the lock on his cage on his own!" She burst out, and huffed as she hit her head on the stone wall then she looked back at them. "Ave, obviously. He has issues. And I've been following the sounds of him and it led me up here and he's not here so I really need help finding him before he goes back to the owlery and he's really grouchy toward me when he's there so PLEASE help me find him." She said in one breath and sucked in a deep breath to regulate her breathing.
She gave a greatful smile toward them. "Thanks...he's a bit mental, have no idea why. But there is the issue of him in general...he makes a lot of noise but he's gray so he'll be hard to spot when you look at the walls...but we can't get caught because I can not afford any more detentions after I set off that dungbomb in Potions!" She said, hitting her forehead as she stressed. Jay really did love her owl, but he was a loon and kinda grouchy in general.
Sadly, he was confusing her and now she needed to find him before they were caught.

"Nice to meet you Airous." she said hoping she pronounced it right. She now remembered him from class better. It was the name most teachers mispronounced their first day. Roxie was always glad to have an easy name to pronounce. She turned her attention back to Jay.
Roxie laughed. "I think being in the same room with me made him mental. That owl really hates me." she said. Roxie was horrible with owls. She was more of a cat and dog person. Owls kind of scared her with their sharp beaks and how their heads turned around.
Roxie nodded "I know. If mum finds out I have a detention she will be furious." she said. It was always her mom angry about these things considering her dad and dead uncle's history with troublamaking and pranks. "But what are friends for." she stated offering a smile.

Airous stood up from where he sat. "So where shall we start?"" He asked. He was glad his blond hair was long enough to cover over his ears. Because of his elf ears he was able to hear better than most people and when he concentrated enough on trying to hear something they twitched slightly, like they were now as he tried to listen for the bird.
"We could check the owlery but there are so many owls down there, he could be easily hiding." He looked at the girls wondering why wizards used owls in the first place. It was much easier to send a e-mail; like the muggles do than let birds fly around. Who knows what the creatures could drag in.

Jayla frowned. "He doesn't hate you, he just doesn't like it when people are really loud or something. He didn't attack you yet, did he?" She said, and then shook her head as she looked at them both for a moment before sighing.
"He might be. I don't know...but it's a possibility. But I think we should check some of the castle fir-" She froze in midsentence when she heard the familiar sound of her owl doing his half hoot, half cooing noise. "Come on!" She said, hurrying out of the Astronomy Tower without looking back at them.

Roxie laughed. "Jay, you just totally described my whole personality in one word. I am quite a loud person. The owl doesn't like me. It's easy math." she said before she followed her friend to find the owl. She ran as quietly as she could not wanting to wake anyone or attract attention to them.
"Come here Xavier. Come to Roxie whom you dislike!" Roxie called in a soft voice trying to attract the owl. Now she knew why she didn't have an owl. A cat was much easier and was limited to running away. Owls could fly.

Airous followed them both out of the tower, leaving his thoughts and past behind him for now. He had become distracted and completely forgot about the mess of his home life.
He rounded the corner listening for the hoot. He leaned against a wall and listened for a second. "I think he's in here!" he said pointing to the open door that lead to a abounded classroom.

Jayla looked around, occasionally attempting to call for her owl. She was somehow managing to stay somewhat near Roxie and...Airous was it? She was pretty sure that that was his name. It was not very often that she got names wrong. But that was her problem with people; she was able to remember names better than faces. A frown came to her lips at this conclusion, but then she shook her head as she centered her attention on the problem at hand.
Her owl, Xavier, was missing. She needed to find him as soon as possible.
Listening closely for the familiar sound of his wings flapping or his coo/hoot, she bit her lip when she heard nothing. But, hearing the faint sound of his familiar coo/hoot, she turned in the direction that she heard it come from. At that moment, she heard Airous' voice and she hurried quickly and quietly toward where he was. Jay felt a bit of hope rising in her as she arrived at the doorway to the empty classroom that he had pointed too. Sure enough, a few seconds later, she heard her owl's coo/hoot. A hopeful look came into her eyes and she took a few steps inside the classroom.
Looking around for a moment, her eyes spotted the familiar dark silverish-gray feathers of her owl glimmer in the faint light from the high windows. "Come here, Ave. You need to go back to your cage." She said softly, looking at the owl. It made a sound that resembled a screech, though quieter, and it sounded disapproving. "No, now." She snapped quietly, and narrowed her eyes. Her owl just had a glowering look in his eye, and flapped his wings in warning. "Don't you d-" He took off and flew over her, out the door and he hooted as he flew. "XAVIER!!!" She shouted, unable to keep her voice down as she sprinted down the corridor back toward where the Astronomy Tower was.
