Melony opened the mahogany doors of her family’s 13 bedroom estate, with a determined glare in her eyes. She headed straight for the stairs and to the room that she shared with her sister. If she was lucky, she thought, then maybe Mandy would still be asleep. It wasn’t likely however that she wouldn’t be up waiting for her sister to return from another late night escapade, as she had for the past seven nights. She would have to for many nights to come because Melony had no plans of leaving the death eaters. It wasn’t even a possibility. Although Melony knew her sister loved her ( they were twins,) she sometimes felt smothered by her protective side. Of the two of them she was definitely better behaved, at least now.
At the top of the stairs Melony was careful to tread lightly on the cold marble floor. She stopped by the bathroom to make sure her face wasn’t littered with dirt or anything, and then Melony tapped the door of her bedroom lightly. She saw Mandy’s figure before she even stepped inside…

It was late into the night , yet Mandy Hart was still awake . It was the same old story for the past week , waiting up for her sister Melony to return from her nightly adventures . Each day Mandy had just let it past but tonight she decided she had to have a word with her sister .
After minutes of waiting , the door of their shared bedroom creaked open slightly . Mandy turned around , waiting for Melony to walk in . She was afraid of her sister sometimes because she was a Death Eater , but as her twin she loved her as well . She was confused about this .

Melony didn't know what else to say, except that she was sorry. She looked at her sister and coughed out an apology, "Sorry, I didn't think you'd still be up." Of course she did. Mandy had been up been waiting for her every time, with that accused look on her face that she knew Melony hated. There wasn't any sincerity in her apology though, she only wanted to get the guilt trip over with and climb into bed. The following night, the cycle would simply repeat.
Her body ached when she sat. Melony winced and layed back onto satin covers. There were always plenty of errands to be taken care of and quireies to look into. As a death eater in hidingthough, Melony knew better than to go out during the day for fear of being seen. After the battle everyone was on the look out for young witches like her, with the mark of the dark lord etched on their arm. Hidden or not, they would know who she was, only if they could find her.

"Sorry ? Is that all you can say sis ? I don't think you mean it . " Mandy said angrily . "Perhaps you are just telling me sorry so that you can go to bed , just like you've done for the past week . I don't think that's how it's gonna be tonight . I want a confession from you , where've you been going . Do you know how worried i get each time you return late ?"
Mandy flung all these questions at her twin at once . Otherwise , there would be no point in asking as Melony would just shrug it off and go to bed . Mandy was quite angry with her sister , she wanted her to leave the Death Eaters as this situation was proving to become quite dangerous .

Melony just stared at her coldly, before finally giving Mandy a reply. "I don't know what kind of explanation you expect me to give you, but it's not gonna happen." Her words were vicious and she suddenly felt guilty. She slowly approached her sister and sighed, "Mandy you don't understand." Her voice was escalating, she pleaded with her sister. "I can't tell you anything. I'm sorry." This time Melony's apology was more sincere, she looked at Mandy and her eyes were full of sadness. She might have felt stronger since joining the death eaters but it didn't make her happy. The only person that cared enough to notice was her sister but Melony had pushed her away, simply because she hated what it did to their relationship. She didn't want to have to face her sister anymore.
She sat on the bed and put her head in her hands. Her shoulders heaved up, and then down as she breathed in deeply. Melony felt that she might cry. She was so used to just shutting out what her sister said, but this time she just wouldn't let it slide. When all she wanted to do was sleep, Mandy wanted to talk. It was overwhelming how much she let her sister down. But she alwasy forgave her...

Anger rose in Mandy after she heard that Melony did not want to explain anything . She was about to say that they were twins and that they would help each other when Melony interjected again . She heard her sister's apology and her heart softened , like it usually did .
Mandy saw Melony's face full of sadness and sat on the bed next to her . "I'm sorry for questioning you earlier . I was just concerned about you . Don't worry , we'll talk aout this in the morning ok ?" Mandy then hugged her sister warmly . Death Eater or not , Mandy still loved Melony because of their strong kinship .

Melony didn't want to cry in front of her sister, so she held back the tears. She wrapped her arms around her. "Ok." It was just that simple, they came to an agreement and even if it never happened, atleast it made Mandy feel better melony thought. Melony felt her eyes start to fill up with tears and she laughed, embarrased. "I don't know why I'm being so emotional." She wiped the tears from her eyes and looked at her sister. For the first time in weeks she felt close to her again. The same bond they had shared since birth shined through all the darkness of what Melony had done, and would still do. At least tonight they could still be sisters. She sat up on the bed and cleared her throat, looking sheepishly around the room. "We should probably get ready for bed." Melony's voice was groggy and she suddenly remembered how tired she was. It had been a long night.

For the first time in a long time , Mandy felt the sisters' emotional connection together . This was what made them care for each other , even if they weren't happy with each other ultimately one of them would break the ice and both would reconcile . This , to Mandy , was the most important thing in the world . The love of family .
"Yeah , we should ." Mandy yawned and went over to her own bed . "Goodnight sis ."She lay on the bed and quickly fell asleep .
