RP Experience: I've been role-playing for seven years now. I owned two popular Harry Potter forums on MSN Groups before it collapsed (one ironically also called 19 Years Later, the other called The Wizarding World RPG). I currently manage Contagion, a zombie apocalypse forum.

Occupation: Hogwarts Student, resident trouble-maker

House/Previous House: Gryffindor
More Information
History: James was the first born child of the famous Harry Potter and his wife Ginny. He was raised in the Wizarding World, but due to his father's and Aunt Hermione's Muggle childhoods, he is also semi-acquainted with the Muggle World. James has two siblings: Albus and Lily. He thoroughly enjoys teasing them, a trait he probably picked up from his Weasley uncles, and is close with his Weasley cousins.
At a young age, James began to develop traits from his namesakes James Potter and Sirius Black, as well as his uncles Fred and George Weasley. He loved going to his Uncle George's joke shop to purchase pranking goods. During the summer between his second and third year, James stole the Marauder's Map from his father's desk after Harry told him about it.
While he was growing up, Harry and Ginny occasionally took their children to visit Harry's cousin Dudley and his family. These occasions were dreaded by James and his siblings, but also spurred James in an interest in Muggles.
His father and mother rarely spoke of Harry's fame or wealth, making James confused at how other Wizarding families would stare when he was in public with his family. Therefore, when he went to Hogwarts he was very surprised at the interest other students took in him. Like his father and grandfather, he quickly grew to be a popular student. One could even say that James began to live off the attention.
When he went away to Hogwarts in his first year, James received a tawny owl from his parents, which he named Phineas. Phineas grew into one of his close friends, and he often found himself in the owlery to speak with him.
In his first and second years at Hogwarts, James was very homesick. He wrote to his parents up to three times a week and had trouble making friends, despite his popularity. This tendency quelled in his third year, when his brother Albus came to Hogwarts. He grew less homesick due to part of home being at Hogwarts.
James has also inherited his father's and mother's broom-riding abilities. He is not interested in Seeking, however. Instead, James prefers to play Quidditch as a Chaser or Beater.
Now in his fourth year, James is a very popular boy who feels no shame in talking about his father, the famous Harry Potter. He has researched the Second Wizarding War and knows all about it and has even gone as far as probing his parents about the details.
Personality: James is a courageous boy with a knack for trouble. He is constantly getting himself into sticky situations, but is rarely caught or punished for them. He is confident--some would even say arrogant. He will drop his father's name in conversation just to earn the respect and attention that accompanies the name. He is narcissistic and fun-loving, with an excellent sense of adventure. He will often tease his younger siblings, but feels protective of them if anyone else joins in. Despite his interest in his own popularity based on his name, James holds his father and his work in the utmost respect.
Likes: Attention, broom-riding, learning about his father's exploits, trouble-making, pranks, Weasley Wizard Wheezes products, money, his family, his friends, Hogwarts, Care of Magical Creatures class, Defense Against the Dark Arts class, his owl Phineas, adventure, Muggles (and therefore Muggle Studies class)
Dislikes: Disrespect of his family and friends, Potions class, History of Magic class (except for the more recent history like the Second Wizarding War), heights, Dementors, Dark Wizards, arrogance (ironically), ghosts, mashed potatoes, liars
Appearance
Hair: Brown/Black, dark brown
Eyes: Brown
Complexion: Light
Description: James is thin and slightly muscular, with dark hair. Though he resembles his father Harry, he also takes some of his appearance from his mother: namely, her attractive appearance, pale complexion and brown eyes. He takes care of his appearance because he likes the attention the name gives him, and he would hate to associate a negative attribute with it due to a dirty appearance. He is shorter than the average 14-year-old, but not by much. Some have even called him a late bloomer.

"Hey dad," James greeted with a smile, hiding his mischievous intent as he passed his father in the hallway of their home, moving toward his bedroom down the hall. His dad seemed busy and barely smiled as he exited his home office. Probably Auror business, James guessed. His dad always seemed preoccupied when he was leaving the office.
James, dressed in a pair of bluejeans and a red-and-gold T-shirt reminiscent of his Hogwarts home underneath plaid, glimpsed through the closing door as he passed the office, spotting the folded bit of paper at the corner of his father's desk. That was exactly what he wanted. Continuing down the hall to avoid suspicion, James waited for his father's footsteps to sink away into the distance of the house before turning fluidly back to the office.
He was going to have to move quick, and he knew it. Wrapping his hand around the doorknob and turning, he found that his father had forgotten to lock the door. Perfect. James knew he could count on his father to forget when he was stressed about some sort of Auror business. The door slid open a minor creak and James stepped in, pulling the door closed silently behind him.
It had been about a week ago that he had overheard his father telling Albus all about the map--the Marauder's Map. He had been heading downstairs to get some food from his mum when he heard Albus' voice asking about the parchment. James heard his father tap the map and speak the words, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." He wasn't sure what it did, but the astounded gasp from Albus made James all the more curious at what it was.
So when James' hand touched the parchment and he tucked it under his plaid, he felt a satisfaction almost as great as when the Sorting Hat called out the word "Gryffindor!" from atop his head. Sneaking back to the door and opening it, however, James felt his heart sink to his feet at the sight before him.
Standing there with his arms crossed, a look of interest across his face, was his father, Harry Potter. To James' astonishment, he watched as his father's expression turned to one of almost pride. His green eyes drifted to the parchment sticking out from under his plaid, then suddenly tilted his head silently. His father took a step back, never removing his eyes from James'.
He couldn't believe it. His father was going to let him keep the map. It was a dream come true. As James passed his father, a hand came up to stop him for a moment. "Just don't tell your mother," his father said, then let go and stepped back into his office. Whatever this thing was, James was glad. He couldn't wait to show his friends.
